Project Manager   Download Application

The Project Manager brings construction experience of steel and precast structures as well as developed management skills to help manage multiple projects for S&R. Project Manager’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Participates in estimating and pricing for projects S&R is bidding.
  • Working with Project Engineers on project management issues such as scheduling, manpower, and material deliveries.
  • Supervises all paperwork and policies related to each project such as change order pricing, RFI submittals etc.
  • Aid in establishing and maintaining customer relations related to sales.
  • Project Management of steel erection projects.
  • With a direct communication link, the project manager will update the president and vice president concerning project management issues as they occur, allowing for greater quality control.
  • An additional company representative in managerial and non-managerial related project meetings.
  • Provides a communication link between Project Engineers and Project Superintendents and executive management on all safety issues and concerns generated on the construction project.
  • Integral part of developing both the site specific safety plan and the site specific erection plan for each project.

The Project Engineer brings knowledge of structures as well as technical experience to S&R. Project Engineer’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in estimating and pricing for projects S&R is bidding.
  • Working with Project Superintendents on project management issues such as scheduling, manpower, and material deliveries.
  • Coordinate and update paperwork and policies related to each project such as change order pricing, RFI submittals etc.
  • Aid in establishing and maintaining customer relations related to sales.

  • With a direct communication link, the project engineer will update the project manger concerning project issues as they occur, allowing for greater quality control.
  • Assists the project manager in developing site specific safety and erection plans for each project.
  • An additional company representative in managerial and non-managerial related project meetings.

Field Engineer   Download Application

Technical experience in surveying and field layout allows for S&R to utilize a field engineer on all major projects.  Field Engineer’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performing anchor bolt surveys to verify the correct placement of column locations.
  • Provide As-built surveys for record keeping and owner requirements.
  • Possesses Knowledge of structural blue print reading and layout.
  • Assures Quality Assurance and Control by verifying structural plumbness of erected structures.
  • Assist in the field layout of structural components and their dimensions.
  • Involved in discussions and recommendations of engineering ideas related to field operations such as rigging equipment, falsework etc.
  • With a direct communication link, the field engineer will update the president and vice president concerning field layout and engineering issues as they occur, allowing for greater quality control.

Project Superintendent   Download Application

Project Superintendents must possess the ability to effectively supervise projects by using his problem solving and leadership skills. Project Superintendent duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate material delivery.
  • Perform multiple crew management for jobsite coordination.
  • Possesses Knowledge of structural blue print reading and layout.
  • Establish and maintain customer/personnel relations. 
  • Oversee all rigging, erecting, and connecting of structural steel.
  •  Maintaining on-site safety regulations and programs set forth by company as well as local and federal agencies.
  • First to document and control the quality of performance on the job site with a direct link in communication to both the president and vice president.
  • Provide and maintain all paperwork related to the project such as crew hours, RFI’s, Change Orders, etc.
  • Represents the company in job-site related project meetings    

Certified Crane Operator   Download Application

A key role in assuring the safety of the workers, the certified crane operator (CCO) must use their technical and mechanical abilities as well as sound decision making skills in order to insure a safe and successful project.  Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Current Certified Crane Operator status through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators.
  • Ability to successfully operate Lattice Crawler, Lattice Truck, Large and Small Telescopic Cranes.
  • Possesses the highest knowledge and understanding of crane safety procedures and policies set forth by the manufacturer.
  • Take a proactive roll in following the crane safety rules and regulations set forth by the company for steel erection and rigging.
  • Possesses the mathematical ability to understand and follow the manufacturer’s load charts for each type and model of crane used.

Project Foremen   Download Application

The project foremen is an experienced Ironworker who has knowledge of all duties performed by crew members during steel erection and detailing.  The project foreman is the first level in both construction quality and safety.  Project Foremen’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Direct management of their assigned crew.
  • Ability to assist other Ironworkers with specific work related problems.
  • Provides an example to his/her crew members in the way they perform their duties.
  • Verifies that crew members are effectively practicing the safety policies and procedures of the company.
  • Completion of work to specific quality standards set forth by the company.
  • Direct communication link to the superintendent assuring smooth project management for his superiors.
  • Supports project superintendents.
  • Supervises at 1st level of project safety.
  • Supervises at 1st level of quality control.

Crew Leader   Download Application

The project crew leader is an experienced Ironworker who has knowledge of all duties performed by crew members during steel erection and detailing.  Crew leader is an extension of the project foremen in issues of crew management, quality control and safety.  Crew Leader’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ability to assist other Ironworkers with specific work related problems.
  • Provides an example to his/her crew members in the way they perform their duties.
  • Along with the project foremen, the crew leader verifies that all crew members are effectively practicing the safety policies and procedures of the company.
  • Completion of work to specific quality standards set forth by the company.
  • Direct communication link to the project foremen assuring smooth crew management for his superiors.
  • Supports project foremen.
  • Assist the supervision at 1st level of project safety.
  • Assist the supervision at 1st level of quality control.

Journeymen Ironworker   Download Application

The journeymen ironworker has formal (supervised) training and/or experience in the steel construction industry.  The journeymen’s experience should be supervised by other journeymen and be approved by S&R supervisors or management.  A company Journeymen Ironworker’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Using specific knowledge and common sense to perform work required by a journeymen ironworker.
  • Having the knowledge and experience in:
    1. Using ironworker tools safely and effectively.
    2. Unloading, organizing and storing materials.
    3. Safe and correct rigging set-ups and procedures.
    4. Safe and correct bolt installation procedures.
    5. Working safely and effectively at varying elevations.
    6. Working under 100% tie-off conditions as set forth by S&R management.
    7. Correct welding set-up and procedures (if required).
  • The journeymen ironworker is the core of the company and their knowledge, experience, and positive attitude toward safety are the cornerstones to S&R’s company success and growth.
