In March of 2003, Stephen C. Burkholder left  Peterson Beckner Industries, Inc. (Houston, TX) to start S&R Enterprises.  Peterson Beckner Industries is a nationwide steel/precast erector with a bonding capacity of over $60 million dollars.  PBI’s focus on business is to maintain a customer base that allows for the security of the company in the long term.  While at Peterson Beckner Industries, I held positions from Engineer, Project Superintendent, Project Manager and eventually Executive Management.  Just prior to the start of S&R, I was responsible for over 10-15 million dollars per year in erection work and managed all the larger, complex structures PBI erected.

Our goals here at S&R are similar to those noted above, that  to engage ourselves to be, not necessarily the largest Mid-Atlantic steel/precast erector, but one that is revered to be the best in safety, quality and customer service.  We strive to maintain a strict safety program that ensures that all of those employed by S&R are able to receive the best training and equipment required to perform our job, but more importantly to ensure that everyone goes home at night in the same condition they started the day.  As stated, our business goals are similar to those mentioned for PBI, that to guide ourselves through the myriad of projects to ensure that S&R is posed for the long term future.

As we grow, we are constantly looking for ways to distance ourselves from our competition.  With that said, S&R has obtained the American Institute of Steel Construction’s Certified Erector status.  Being an A.I.S.C. Certified Erector and maintaining a solid quality control program is a key to the success of our business.  We realize that we need to do the extra things that will promote our business. 

We are 100% focused on making our entire project a huge success for all our TEAM members.
